I love self-care and I have a pretty lengthy self-care routine based on my individual needs.
Mornings
In the mornings, I take a brisk shower where I wash my face with an oil-absorbing face wash and use a shampoo and conditioner that’s specifically meant to help with my scalp health.
After I get out, I put a product on my scalp to improve the thickness of my hair and then I use a bit of pomade to condition my hair.
Mid-Day
I sometimes will apply biotin oil on my scalp and sit under a red light therapy (RLT) panel I have next to my couch for 30 minutes. It’s debatable on whether or not the biotin helps, although I like the smell of it and I find the RLT panel relaxing.
A few times a month, I use a heated foot spa or use face masks as well.
Nights
Like my morning routine, my night routine begins with a shower. I use the same shampoo as I do in the mornings (normally, you’re not supposed to shampoo your hair every day, but this particular shampoo can be used multiple times a day due to its formulation). I wash my face again and, depending on the day, I use a rotating exfoliating brush with the cleanser. After that, I shave my face, which is my least favourite part of the routine.
I use this retinol body wash and, also depending on the day, I have a rotating exfoliating body brush I use with it. If there are any rough areas (knees, elbows, heels, etc), then I use a sugar scrub on the rotating brush to soften my skin.
After I get out, I use the same hair product as I do in the morning on my scalp and then I apply a leave-in conditioner on my hair. I use a retinol face cream after and then I use a moisturising cream on every part of my body, except for my hands and feet. Finally, I use Urea cream on my feet and put socks on to wear overnight, and then I apply a hand cream.
