Self Care

Hello, Folks

I was wondering to start it earlier but don’t know why it took so long, and my teammate just asked me to do it away…here I am…

So, Let’s talk about this,

Self-care has been on my mind a lot recently. I’ve been wondering what specific things you guys have been working on or improving in your self-care routine.

I’ve recently started focusing more on sleep, cutting out distractions before bed. But I’m curious what have you guys been improving in your routines?

Any habits you’ve added that have made a real difference?

Do let me and others know about your dos you perform or you’re on to :man_shrugging:

Let’s brighten this subject, looking forward to hearing!

I love self-care and I have a pretty lengthy self-care routine based on my individual needs.

Mornings
In the mornings, I take a brisk shower where I wash my face with an oil-absorbing face wash and use a shampoo and conditioner that’s specifically meant to help with my scalp health.

After I get out, I put a product on my scalp to improve the thickness of my hair and then I use a bit of pomade to condition my hair.

Mid-Day
I sometimes will apply biotin oil on my scalp and sit under a red light therapy (RLT) panel I have next to my couch for 30 minutes. It’s debatable on whether or not the biotin helps, although I like the smell of it and I find the RLT panel relaxing.

A few times a month, I use a heated foot spa or use face masks as well.

Nights
Like my morning routine, my night routine begins with a shower. I use the same shampoo as I do in the mornings (normally, you’re not supposed to shampoo your hair every day, but this particular shampoo can be used multiple times a day due to its formulation). I wash my face again and, depending on the day, I use a rotating exfoliating brush with the cleanser. After that, I shave my face, which is my least favourite part of the routine.

I use this retinol body wash and, also depending on the day, I have a rotating exfoliating body brush I use with it. If there are any rough areas (knees, elbows, heels, etc), then I use a sugar scrub on the rotating brush to soften my skin.

After I get out, I use the same hair product as I do in the morning on my scalp and then I apply a leave-in conditioner on my hair. I use a retinol face cream after and then I use a moisturising cream on every part of my body, except for my hands and feet. Finally, I use Urea cream on my feet and put socks on to wear overnight, and then I apply a hand cream.

Good to hear that and here is me:

Honestly, i hate waking up, never work out, and shower twice daily. lolzz

Then I’ll down copious amounts of coffee, pop a nicotine gum or cigarette, a cup of tea later on, a good healthy meal afterward, a normal walk, and finally a couple of tabs to control my disease. That’s my morning routine. I recently fixed my sleeping schedule so that’s huge for me.

Then I finish homework, and my family’s needs, once all set, I sit at my desk, and work work work, baby, fooking work along digging in to learn something new if I found anything, my PC fan feels like shit to handle such a workload. all my personal developments are Undone, will do by tomorrow, not sure when I last said that maybe 2010, I wish that tomorrow comes one day :man_shrugging:  :man_facepalming:

Lastly, my best thing to do for self-care is to do nothing, rest, eat, sleep, take a bath, sleep, that’s it!

Over and out.

Combing my hair to the left one day and to the right the other day is really helping me focus on my hair, or whats left of it. Nowadays I feel like the lion king looking in the mirror, great boost of mentality.

Being thankful for what I have. Breathing in deep for 4 seconds, holding for 4 seconds then releasing. When I get tense, I tap on my leg. Learned that a long time ago with biofeedback. Have used those 2 for a long time. A good roughsided scruby works great.

I set myself a few goals every day.

  • To take an interest in myself when it comes to
    nutrition.
  • I go for a walk every day (5 to 7 km/day).
  • Try to learn something new ( PC + internet )
  • Say my prayers.
  • See if there’s anything new on onhak site.
  • My problem is that I don’t concentrate
on one subject, I want to know everything and have
    everything …
  • With age, I am convinced that we HOMO SAPIENS
are far from humanity because of wars and
    conflicts …

As I put on roughly 20kg in the last year, I did make changes to my this year’s.

  1. Exercise at a fixed time
Two hours of badminton every weekend, which is good for my cervical spine.

I bought simple gym equipment, for push-ups and sit-ups.

2, Weekly massage

3, Quit drinking sugary drinks
Try more Chinese tea which is really good and recommend you all to try them.

4, Regular sleep
I still can’t change my bedtime, I usually work until 2am-4am to sleep. But instead of forcing myself to wake up early, I make sure to wake up.

5, I still don’t like to shave but try to keep my scruffy beard as I don’t need to meet my clients often. And since I don’t come home often, I don’t want my wife to think I’m hanging out in the wee hours of the morning.

From my side, I dont really have a self-care routine but ya I wanted to improve my health as I am a bit lazy. So already waking up early morning for prayers and then again I am sleeping. But I want to leave that sleep things, I want to come out of my bed and want a motivation to go and do some walking or doing some gym. But ya I have some equipments for push up which I am doing when I feel like doing it.

And wanted to leave the smoking which I am having sometimes on weekend. Wanted to learn new things everyday so that it will help me in future.

Thats all from my side chief…

You’re not supposed to wash the skin/hair daily, even if it is a “special shampoo” that allows it.

You’re washing away natural oils, crucial for (skin) health

My self care includes:

  • Taking the pills
  • light exercise daily
  • drinking enough water
  • eating 5 portions of vegetables/fruits
