Hello! I don’t remember putting a password on Telegram 2FA and so I can’t log back in to my account. Telegram gives us only 2 options - either remember the password or reset account but I don’t want to have to create a new account because all my old important data will be gone. I have waited for nearly 2 weeks and DMed Telegram log-in help account on Twitter and provided screenshots but I haven’t gotten any help from them. I wish we could just log back in easily with just phone number and SMS code if not email and code. Please help me, thanks.

isnt there an option for sending an SMS?
I’ve dug through Telegram’s docs, bug tracker, user reports, even tried the Twitter ‘help’ route — Sadly, Telegram 2FA isn’t a “lost password, click here” thing — it’s built like a vault. No recovery email or active session = no way back in, period.
Only 3 options exist:
- Got recovery email? → Forgot Password → reset instantly.
- Logged in on another device? → start 7-day reset.
- Neither? → only delete account and start fresh.
Support won’t magic you back in (they’ll just copy-paste this). Harsh, but that’s the design. Docs here: Telegram 2FA FAQ + Reset Guide.
