Short Introduction
You can now erase unwanted elements from screenshots or any image using the built-in Eraser Tool in Windows 11’s Photos App. It’s a free and surprisingly powerful feature that lets you remove UI elements, background clutter, or anything else from images with ease.
Simplified One-Line Flowchart
Open Image in Photos ➔ Tap Edit ➔ Use Eraser Tool to Remove Unwanted Parts
Easy Step-by-Step Method
Step 1: Open the image in Windows 11 Photos app
- Right-click your image > Open with > Photos.
Step 2: Enter Edit Mode
- In the top toolbar, click Edit Image.
Step 3: Use the Eraser Tool
- In the right panel, select Eraser.
- Use your mouse to brush over the part you want to remove. The tool will automatically blend the background.
Step 4: Fine-Tune the Edit (Optional)
- Zoom in for detailed edits.
- Adjust brush size to precisely target smaller objects or edges.
Step 5: Save the Image
- Click Save a Copy to preserve the original image.
Quick Tips (Optional)
- Zoom in and reduce brush size for better control when erasing small UI parts.
- Try using the background remover for larger areas or simple backgrounds.
- If using a game screenshot, it’s better than photo mode for hiding HUDs post-capture.
Important Notes
- This feature is available only in the Windows 11 Photos App (Beta or updated version).
- It may not perfectly erase complex or detailed elements on the first try—experiment with brushing again.
- This is a manual tool, not a one-click object removal AI—accuracy improves with careful editing.
