- Get acquainted with Google Apps Script: It’s a powerful tool that lets you automate actions in Google Ads using JavaScript.
Steps:
- Create a copy of the Google Sheets here (https://docs.google…xVd9rHOQ0E/copy): This template will provide a foundation for your tracking needs.
- Insert your Google Sheets URL into the script here(https://gofile.io/d/QF8GeO): You’ll need to replace “let ss =” with your specific Google Sheets URL.
- Name your script and sheet: Make sure the names are relevant to your campaign.
- Link your script to your Google Ads account, by uploading this in Settings >> Bulk Actions >> Scripts: Don’t worry, this won’t affect your ads.
- Save and run your script: It’s best to do this when your Google Ads aren’t at peak usage.
- Set your script to run daily: This ensures you always have up-to-date data.
- Analyze the report generated by the script: This report will provide insights into your campaign’s performance over the past month.
- Test and adjust your campaigns based on insights: The data you gather can help you optimize your campaign.
- Monitor your campaign performance: Regularly check your campaign and adjust as needed.
- Check out additional tabs in the report: These tabs provide table views and charts showing asset group performance.
- Update audience signals: Use the data you gather to fine-tune your audience targeting.
- Experiment with other scripts: As you get more comfortable with Google Apps Script, try out other scripts or even learn to create your own. I’ll probably be dropping an updated script once Google Ads updates the way PMax Campaigns are reported on
