We collect what helps the community work — not your life story.

What we collect
• Account info: username, email, avatar.
• Usage data: IP, device, pages you visit, posts you make.
• Cookies & analytics: to keep the site working and improve things.
• Optional extras: DMs, payment info for staff-run sales (never stored without consent).

Why we collect it
• To run the site, fight spam/abuse, and keep things secure. :locked_with_key:
• To moderate, pin, and promote quality content. :star:
• To analyze trends and make OneHack less trash and more useful. :chart_increasing:

We do NOT sell your personal data. Ever. Not to creeps, not to marketers, not to spies. Period. :raised_hand:

When we share
• With trusted providers (hosting, email, analytics) so the site works. We pick reputable partners.
• If legally required (court order, DMCA).
• With staff for moderation and support. They’re bound to keep it private.

Security
• We use standard protections: encrypted connections, access control, and monitoring. Not infallible, but we’re serious. :locked:

Your control
• Want your data deleted? Contact staff and we’ll remove what we can (posts may remain as cached/archived content). :wastebasket:
• Want less tracking? Block cookies or use privacy mode — but the site may be cranky. :cookie::prohibited:

Retention
• We keep what’s needed for moderation, legal compliance, and site safety. Old junk gets purged unless needed for rules or investigations.

Kids
• Not intended for under-13s. If you’re a minor, get permission and be careful.

Changes
• We’ll update this as laws or tech change. Big changes = site notice. Continued use = you’re cool with changes.
