Hi everyone! So, I got enrolled in a Udacity Nano-Degree Program and Have completed it But Now they are Asking for identity verification using NetVerify. Is there anyone who has bypassed this problem?OR is there any way around this verification. Thank you in Advance!
I have also enrolled in a course in udacity and i successfully got verified, though you use USA VPN and Address while registering you can upload your own govt issued document from your country you will get verified.
After Providing your ID verification did you then delete your account or what?
Yes Knowledge is key! Although after getting the certificate I could delete the Account. That would prevent all the problems aswell right?
so tell me do i need to delete the account now? i have uploaded my govt proofs?
if you are going to delete your account why bother try getting verified? I’d think the whole point of getting verified is you can add the cert to your resume as its legit however as everyone has said also imho the knowledge is the key not getting the cert - perfect example is my work paid for me to complete a training but it wasn’t exactly work related so I rushed through it just to get the cert (not the knowledge) >_< so in that sense i’m in the opposite problem… however is there any evidence that udacity is coming after anyone? I’d assume the whole verification is to ensure the person who did the work is the actual one that got the cert… which also seems weak as you could get verified then give someone else your login to complete the work so its all just a stupid hassle imho
Well deleting your account will also erase your certificate availability in their servers cause you don’t exist as per the laws on their servers! So well, you need to understand the difference between importance and necessity! And proceed further with a man of honor and value! Not a certificate gatherer! Your knowledge speaks not a piece of paper!
I did not know about the the certificate being erased aswell. thankyou for your insight! And, You’re right it’s not about the certificate but the actual Knowledge gathering! thanks mate.
The certificates don’t have as much value as actual projects that can show your real work, in the eyes of a recruiter. You can always add the projects you have done during nanodegree on your github, but don’t claim you actually did the nanodegree, the knowledge of projects is public already, there would be no problem in claiming them as sources. You will have shown your hard work professionally as well which is what the certificate stands for. I hope this helps.
I certainly wouldn’t expect any sort of certificate or “completion of the course” thingy if you didn’t actually pay/properly enroll for the course.
I’ve never read of an employer giving any attention to an Udacity certificate. The quality of Udacity’s courses have dipped in the last few years, yet the price of admissions keeps rising. There are much better courses out there.
Yep, if Java SE or C# certifications are worth next to nothing now, just imagine an Udacity one. I just mentioned the Udacity cert thing because on another forum, some people who took advantage of the Udacity’s open courses a hwile ago for US and EU (who didn’t live in either) but took some course and then they cried like a lil bitch when they got their accounts banned and no certficate…
For online courses I like LiveLessons; all the courses I’ve taken have been excellebt and tremendously helpful, and also you can be certain that the instructor knows his shit head to toe. Taking or investing on a course where you can tell the instructors are experts who dominate their respective craft AND have good-to-excellent teaching skills is becoming quite a rarity.
And yes, I’m looking at you, Udemy (you were wrong …“anybody can teach)” my balls!.)
