I am wanted to create a blog for personal branding/ career building,

other than Wordpress, any other leading platforms I should consider?

Wordpress is one of the easiest methods to build a blog. And their app store has a lot of variety to help you improve and increase userbase. Also, they are good with relations to SEO & eCommerce support.
If you want a clean and neat blog then there’s blogger. This is very simple and down to earth.
Other paid options are Medium.
And off late Facebook Notes is a good option for immediate numbers in userbase and advertising to your customers.
