typical install will not let you chose some options that you wouldn’t want to install.
For example the symantec firewall. Personnaly i prefer the one in windows 10.

can i check, if there is a update for SEP, do i need to go back to the link to download the update file or can i update through the app?

You can’t update SEP from SEP.
What you can do is to give a look at the russian site if a new version is available. that’s how i proceed.

You can check symantec website from time to time to see if a new version is released :

when a new version is available then you just have to install it over the previous version, it will keep your settings.
