Any tool or script to unzip password protected file.
File size more than 500mb.

My important documents and files compressed in zip password protected file. I forgot password and not able to extract it. Is there any way to get it back.

I think that there are only 3 possible ways

  1. brute force it by yourself, which can take days to months, depends upon password’s length.
  2. pay to a company, they have dedicated servers solely for this purpose.
  3. use john the ripper which can also take days to months but it’s better than brute forcing.

Look for johntheripper.

I’ve used that many times on Kali Linux with good results.
I’m fairly certain it is available for Windows and Mac as well. It’s free from what I know.
You have to be realistic though; if you used a fairly simple pw like “joebob” or “lakers” or something it will be fast. But if the pw has uppercase and lowercase alphabets, as well as numbers or special characters, then your chances are low.
