I have 4.2To of data on a Mega.nz account when it’s supposed to have only 15 go.
I was wondering if Mega deletes files if the files exceed the capacity of the account? If so, and how long do I have to move those files?
I already created a link to download them but I do not know how long it will take to do that.
If it gets DMCA complaint it will delete files and also the account
Remember this statement, it’s pretty enough to understand:
You must maintain copies of all data stored by you on our services. We do not make any guarantees that there will be no loss of data or the services will be bug-free. You should download all data prior to the termination of services.
We may also terminate or suspend our services or any part of our services, for all users or for groups of users, without notice, at any time, for any reason or no reason.
Do they delete copies? Yes, they probably do: Mega system scans uploaded files, and if it finds one that is identical to a file that’s already been uploaded, it will delete the copy.
Do they delete files without notice? Yes, they do: As long as your account remains active (login every 6 months) and it doesn’t receive a DMCA takedown request, links should last indefinitely. and probably, 3 DMCA penalties may cause account termination.
- If you’re using the Mega account to keep your personal files in order, never share such things with any stranger or under sharing files purposes.
- Pro account has an option to set Link expiry, so use it and keep your files secure even if you shared them.
